Keep 13 cents more on every dollar.
Airbnb's blended host-side fee runs ~14–18% on most Puerto Rico STR bookings (3% host + 14% guest service fee taken from your nightly rate). IslaHub charges a flat 5%. Same listing, same guest, dramatically different take-home.

Why we can charge less
Puerto Rico-only focus
Airbnb has to maintain a global infrastructure. We focus on one market — fewer regional teams, fewer compliance overheads, more of the fee stays in operations and pricing.
Direct relationships
Our hosts and providers are all PR-based. Lower fraud rate, lower support cost, lower fee. The savings get passed back.
Building network, not extracting
5% is enough to run the platform and grow it. We'd rather have 100 hosts saving real money than be the fee-extracting middleman.
FAQ
Where does the 14-18% Airbnb figure come from?
Airbnb charges hosts a service fee (~3% in most cases). They also charge guests a service fee of around 14% — but because hosts compete on total displayed price, that fee effectively comes out of what hosts can charge as a nightly rate. Combined effective host take typically runs 14–18%, sometimes higher.
What does the IslaHub 5% cover?
Listing hosting, the search/booking system, payment processing, guest communications, and basic dispute resolution. Property management (cleaning, turnovers, in-person guest support) is separate — see our verified provider directory for vetted PR-based managers.
Are there any other hidden fees?
No. Payment processing (~3% Stripe) is included in the 5%. There's no listing fee, no per-booking fee, no premium-placement fee. Optional add-ons (paid promotion, professional photography through verified providers) are clearly marked and optional.
What about taxes?
Puerto Rico requires STR operators to register and collect room tax (~7-12% depending on municipality). We don't charge you on the room tax — that goes directly to the government through your operator account. Talk to a PR CPA for full compliance setup.
What's the catch?
We're newer. We don't have Airbnb's global guest base yet, so during ramp-up you may want to keep listings on both platforms and migrate guests over time. We're transparent about that — most hosts find IslaHub direct-booking revenue grows month over month as the PR-specific traffic compounds.
